Biography >
Known as the Bath Bullet, Jasons career high point was leading off the British
4×100m relay quartet of Darren Campbell, Marlon Devonish and Mark Lewis-Francis that
struck gold at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Jason was made an MBE in the 2005 New Year Honours
List and became an Honorary Freeman of the City of Bath following that dramatic gold
Olympic medal.
His other top honours include a gold medal over 60m
at the 2004 World Indoor Championships and a hat-trick of 60m European Indoors
Championships titles. He also names a Commonwealth Games relay gold medal at Manchester
2002 and a World Championships relay silver medal among his many achievements.
His silver at the 1998 European Indoor Championships
was his first senior championships medal and in 1999 he became only the third British
runner to break the 10-second barrier for 100m, clocking 9.98 seconds in Lausanne,
Switzerland.
Jason benefited from training at the
state-of-the-art indoor running straight at the University of Bath Sports Training
Village.
