Biography >
Sam swam and ran with his local swimming and athletics clubs, and was introduced to pentathlon by participating in local swim/running biathlons, which are organised through the MPAGB. He then added one event at a time. Riding was the last one he tried and was the most tricky addition.

Sam's brother Chris is a goalkeeper with the English Championship football league club Bristol City.

• Riding - Show jumping on a unknown horse, 12 jumps including treble and double up to 1 meter 20 cm in height
• Running - 3000m Cross country run
