Olympic Arts Project visit South Cheshire College, Crewe and launched the project to local business in the South Cheshire area

On Monday 4th February Olympic Gold Medallist Jason Gardener MBE, Kevin Whitney and Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst visited South Cheshire College following an invite from the Principle David Collins.

South Cheshire College is the home of post 16 education in Crewe and Nantwich and one of the leading tertiary and sixth form colleges in the country. It achieves excellent results year after year

Jason, Kevin and Loraine gave presentations based around an Olympic Theme to the Sports and Arts students during the day. Jason also made visits to several of the classes and discussed his sporting career with the students, plus giving them the opportunity to see his Olympic Gold Medal.

During the evening the college kindly sponsored the Crewe & South Cheshire area launch of the Olympic Arts Project. This enabled Loraine & Kevin to outline their project to local businesses, local council and schools representatives.

On 5th & 6th of February Kevin gave Olympic Themed Workshops to the art students at South Cheshire College, Crewe.

South Cheshire College Principal Dr David Collins CBE said: “We were delighted to host a showcase event to promote The National Olympic Arts Project.

“The National Olympic Arts Project is a great way to encourage young people around the country to engage in sport and art and recognise the importance of sport on our well-being.

 “We are also very pleased that Jason Gardener, one of Britain’s great Olympic achievers, is backing the project and attended the launch event. It was fantastic to have him here.”
