Olympic Arts Project attends the Beijing Olympics August 2008

Bath FMIt has been the dream of Loraine and OAP artist Kevin Whitney to get a chance to take some of the artwork from the Olympic Arts Project workshops held over the last few years to Beijing. Rowford Process, Olympic Arts Project Beijing SponsorWith sponsorship from Rowford Process Limited, Kevin Whitney and his assistant, John De Oliveira, were able to fly out to Beijing for the games and take a number of examples of the paintings with him as well as our banner explaining what the project is about (see left).

With the assistance of Joe Bur, Director of the Dong Hua Men Cultural Activity Centre in Downtown Beijing who is very pleased to exhibit the children's paintings from the workshops. These are now on show until the end of the games.

Joe Bur and one of his students, Fang, were present for a Bath FM radio interview with Laura Harrison on Monday, 18th August. Joe and Fang both contributed to the interview and they spoke highly about the OAP concepts and the works on display. Joe Bur, who specialises in Chinese script, produced a banner in Chinese calligraphy reading "Olympic Arts Project" which was also displayed. This banner will be brought back to England and will play a part in future exhibitions
