The launch of a 6 week Olympic Arts Exhibition was held at the Guildhall in Bath.

The Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset launched the 6 week Olympic Arts Exhibition at the Guildhall in Bath.

Olympic themed paintings created by children and young people from the Bath area are being exhibited alongside paintings by Olympic Artist Kevin Whitney.Also being exhibited are Beijing Olympic paintings by Tim Vyner, Senior lecturer at Bath Spa University Arts Dept and Olympic themed artwork by 2 of his students.

The recent Olympic art workshops have been sponsored by local lady Mrs.Jennifer Skellett.

During the reception The Chairman presented Jennifer and Paralympian Gold Medalist Stephen Brunt MBE with Ambassadors framed certificates to thank them for their support of the project.

Children and young people, their parents and their teachers also attended the reception as well as Tim and Super Ted and Watership Down artist Christine Clare-Macarthy who has joined the Olympic Arts team to provide art workshops for Primary school children.

The Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Council presented Christine with a thank you for running an arts workshop card created by the Children of Trinity School, Radstock, Nr.Bath.

Other guests at the reception were representatives of the Bath business community and also included the Editor in Chief of the Bath Chronicle Sam Holliday. Mr.Boon attended and represented YTL the owners of local company Wessex Water and Lloyds TSB Bath Branch who have both supported the Olympic Arts Project.

The frames for the exhibition were sponsored by Simple Recruitment, a local recruitment agency.
